This TF sequence is not for the faint of heart!

My entry for ~Dragoniade's recent contest. I chose something that I want to do and had in mind for awhile: Making my own Thing creature.

Movie: John Carpenter's The Thing
Trigger of the transformation: A blood transfusion mistake.
Style: my usual semi-realistic cartoon style.
Self crit: I need to be better at drawing people with their head facing downwards.

Prelude: Phillipe, after being attacked at a park by an unknown being, most likely another person, he was out cold. He than later woke up in a hospital after receiving a blood transfusion from his blood loss at the attack site. Little does he and the doctors know that the person he had the transfusion with is infected, not with a virus, but it is an alien invader in a host's body. Scans show that the person is normal, that's of how perfect the creature can manipulate DNA.

Transformation plot: After he recovered a couple of days later, he decided to walk home because the hospital is near his place, thank goodness. Right when he went outside, he felt that something was taking over, urging him to hide in the alleyway a block away. Phil fell on his knees, trying to get up and run to the hospital. It is too late. The pain floods his body and the changes begin. The first change is when his spine extends, making his body increase in mass for changing organs. His eyes has traveled from his head and into the back of his neck as eye stalks plus one. That includes a third eye. The arms increase in muscle and had become longer. The anatomy changes in the arms to be almost like tentacles, the skin splitting in the process. The hands became 2 separate weapons, a toxic-spewing maw and a giant holding claw.
His head went through the same change into a tentacle. The skill shifts into a beak and teeth were added as it push through his mouth, now a sheath for the beak, as the hair became thinner and fall out.
Of what used to be his chest is now a huge, gaping mouth. The ribcage hatched open and the bones crack and shift into spider legs. Deep inside, a forming, yet deformed dog head snakes through. His stomach shot out small, venomous spikes.
His feet start to swell and tentacle connect the two feet together, becoming one. The feet grew more toes and then expand through the whole body, making a huge foot that secretes slime underneath.
Little does he know that he still has his conciousness, even though he craves juicy meat and hosts to assimilate. Phil is shocked of what strange creature he has become, a cross between surprised and scared shock, since he has a carnivourous alien form. Someone is coming down the alleyway...the attacker, maybe? If so, then that guy will be having a big surprise.

The creature: This kind of alien had modified itself to be a trapper, having 3 arm-like tentacles that extend to the beak mouth at the center. It injects it's prey with venom with it's dog shaped tongue and then feeds, holding it's meaty food in place with modified fingers that are used to be ribs.
It moves slowly using it's large, single foot, and has sticky slime to aid it's movement.

UPDATE:
And those pearls are 2 pairs of 2nd eyes, wide in that same expression. The dog's head doesn't have that expression because it's like a false head.

Forgot all about that part, sorry.


Facts: The attacker used to be Kerrigo getting all dissapointed because he missed out a chance to take over someone's DNA, but with the border blocking the way, you can't see him.

It says 'Blood Donations' on the side of the hospital, but that's for a coincidental purpose. It used to be a blood donation as the trigger, but that doesn't make sense unless I change the story prelude. During his transfusion, one section of the hospital is having blood donations...It makes you think that the alien invader that transformed Phileppe is plotting something and has the oppotunity to infect others.
